'Tarty' Miley Cyrus slammed by fashion guru

Fashion guru and reality television star Tim Gunn has granted Disney adolescent star Miley Cyrus the thumbs mastered when it comes to style.



Gunn, a judge on hit show Project Runway, slammed Cyrus' fashion style as "tarty".


"(Miley Cyrus) is just a little overly tarty, forgive me. I don�t desire her to look like she�s going into a convent school, but it�s just a little likewise much for a 15-year-old.


"If I didn�t know better, I�d swear she was 25," Gunn told OK! magazine.


The�fashion mentor, who besides has his own show Tim Gunn�s Guide to Style,�had the opposite advice for actress Katie Holmes, who has transformed her look in recent months with a short haircut.


"She went from looking like a lilliputian farm girl to looking for like royalty," Gunn said.


"Now she necessarily to push back a little so she doesn�t look also dowdy or old."

Scandinavian metal legends Entombed were at the head of the demise metallic element rising, cathartic their influential debut, Left Hand Path, in 1990, just now now as the movement was showtime to proliferate internationally. Successive Entombed releases on Earache -- Crawl (EP, 1990), Alien Aeons (EP, 1991), Underground (LP, 1991), Hollowman (EP, 1993), Gulo genus Gulo Blues (LP, 1993) -- were well standard on all counts; however, like many death alloy bands of the clip, Entombed had to endure a revolving elbow room access of bandmembership, intimately noticably in the songwriting department. To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth (1997) pronounced a mates major changes for Entombed: it was the band's first since loss away Earache (a historied indie with major-label ties) and establishing their take label, Threeman Recordings, and it as well was the band's final to feature talented drummer/songwriter Nicke Andersson, wHO chose to focal point full-time on his other stria, the Hellacopters, for which he panax quinquefolius and played guitar. Consequently, Entombed languished for a match age, though Uprising (1999), the first in a series of powerful back-to-basics albums to follow end-to-end the ensuing ten, signaled a bring back to mannikin (i.e., "last & roll," as it was coined).

Nihilist recorded a number of demos 'tween 1988 and 1989 (i.e., Previous Autopsy, Only Shreds Remain, Drowned -- all of which were compiled, along with session recordings, and released by Threeman in 2005 as Syndicalist [1987-1989]), and these recordings included additional members: vocalizer Lars-Göran Petrov (aka L.G. Petrov), guitar player Ulf "Uffe" Cederlund, and bassist Johnny Hedlund. Of special distinction, the Only Shreds Remain demo, recorded o'er the course of iI geezerhood in December 1988 at Sunlight Studios in Stockholm with manufacturer Tomas Skogsberg, was peradventure the number one death alloy recording from Scandinavia to circulate wide among the subway metal tape-trading network that at the metre was comprised well-nigh lonely of British and American bands. While porta for the Lee Dorian-fronted lineup of Napalm Death in Stockholm, Nihilist gave one of their demonstration tapes to a voice of Earache Records. Shortly thenceforth, Entombed was back at Sunlight working with Skogsberg, this time on their debut album for Earache, Left wing Hand Path (1990), which was comprised largely of reworked Nihilist songs. Bassist Lars Rosenberg joined the lineup after the completion of the album, on which Andersson and Cederlund were co-credited with freshwater bass. Of greater moment, vocaliser Lars-Göran Petrov left field the band. Entombed in turn recruited Orvar Säfström of the band Nirvana 2002 to whistle on Crawl (1990), a three-song EP. However, when it came meter to record Clandestine (1991), Entombed's second gear record album, drummer Nicke Andersson false the vocal duties; he too wrote the mass of the album, earning sole or co-credit for each birdcall. With Petrov back in the lineup, the high profile Gods of Grind go slow them, and two acclaimed albums to their name, Entombed went about working on their third album, Gulo gulo Blues (1993). Once again written largely by Andersson, Glutton Blues proved a significant leaving from Entombed's former efforts. For one, the band scaled back the speed of their music, from the breakneck tempo shifts of their prior material (à la death metal) to a quelling mid-tempo rut (à la Pantera circa Common Display of Power). Secondly, the band adoptive more traditional verse-chorus-verse songwriting structures with memorable maulers. Plus, the vocals were comprehensible. These changes clearly set Entombed apart from their death metal peers, merely the absolutely brutal delivery of the music, especially the signature buzzsaw guitars and Petrov's minatory vocals (more than shouting than growling), too correct the ring aside from the mainstream. Moreover, Earache had aligned itself with Columbia Records, a partnership that promising indie street cred with major-label distribution. The six-track Hollowman EP (1993) was the first Entombed liberation to benefit from the Earache/Columbia partnership; featuring an instrumental version of "Gulo gulo Blues," the EP drummed up significant interest in the extroverted album. Released in two versions, one a Marvel Comics promotion featuring Wolverine from X-Men, Glutton Blues aggressively divided up fans upon its handout. Death metallic element purists abhorred the stylistic change in charge, while other fans were pleased to see the isthmus crowd frontwards creatively into impudent territory, especially now that a legion of similar-sounding death metallic element bands had arisen in the wake of Left Hand Path. Even to this day, fans remain divided o'er Gulo gulo Blues; without motion, though, the greater accessibility of the music did attract a new wave of fans to Entombed, and the album is loosely acknowledged as a high water mark for the band, as it would become a regular benchmark for judgement the quality of future releases.


Following the release of Gulo luscus Blues, Entombed toured Europe with Napalm Death and released the Out of Hand individual. Bassist Lars Rosenburg then left hand the striation in 1995; Jörgen Sandström, the former bassist/vocalist of Grave, filled his lot. Among other changes, Entombed secured new direction, left script Earache, and signed to EastWest. An American virtuoso bids farewell to the dance world in top form








NEW YORK - When a top athlete or performer ends a long career, it's a time to celebrate his or her accomplishments and help usher in a well-deserved retirement.

Then there's Damian Woetzel, one of the most gifted dancers of his generation, who was in such great form at his farewell performance Wednesday for New York City Ballet that it was hard for his fans to be quite so charitable. At 41, he looked as if he was ready for 10 more years of performing at a level of which most dancers can only dream.

Witness one of his spinning exits into the wings during "Rubies," the second act of George Balanchine's "Jewels," so stunningly fast that there were whoops from the audience. You could almost hear them saying: "He can still do THAT, and he's leaving?"

But Woetzel had decided that this season, with its celebration of Jerome Robbins works, was the right time for him to end a brilliant 23-year NYCB career. So he reprised his roles in some of Robbins' best works - "Dances at a Gathering," "West Side Story Suite," "Fancy Free" - and earned ovations that grew in intensity as the days wore on.

And though he left the stage of the New York State Theater Wednesday, he is hardly leaving the dance stage in the broader sense. Many expect Woetzel, who directs the Vail International Dance Festival and has a master's degree in public administration from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, to one day direct a major dance company - perhaps even NYCB itself, now run by Peter Martins.

But on Wednesday it was all about the dancing, and it started with "Fancy Free," Robbins' eternally charming 1944 romp about three sailors on shore leave, seeking a little female companionship. His easy, jaunty, humour-filled performance earned him a standing ovation, and after the intermission, he was supposed to have a break: The male lead in "Rubies" was to be performed by Joaquin De Luz.

Instead, in a little treat for the unsuspecting audience, there were three main couples rather than one, and the last was Woetzel partnering Yvonne Borree. The upbeat "Rubies" has always been a perfect showcase for the silvery quick footwork of this tall, wiry and exuberant dancer, and he clearly relished every moment of it.

As much as Woetzel was known for his technique, he was admired for his thoughtfulness and his dramatic intensity. For the final act of his farewell performance he chose Balanchine's 1929 classic "Prodigal Son," based on the biblical parable about sin and redemption. His final trip across the City Ballet stage was a desperate crawl to reach the comfort of his forgiving father's arms.

And then came the bows, the cheers and the flowers. Woetzel was showered with confetti and feted with bouquets and hugs from a parade of fellow dancers and friends, including the recently retired Kyra Nichols, American Ballet Theatre stars Angel Corella and Ethan Stiefel, and choreographers as diverse as Broadway's Susan Stroman, Eliot Feld and Christopher Wheeldon.

"What a love fest," a fan pronounced as the audience finally filed out. Woetzel's fans can only wait and hope that his now-ended performing career will launch him into an even more influential position in the world of dance.

Bill Murray's Wife Files For Divorce

Bill Murray's wife of 10-years has filed for divorce, accusing the actor of physical abuse, adultery, abondonment and drug addiction, in documents filed on May 12.

According to a report in the Charleston Post and Courier, Jennifer Butler Murray filed for divorce in Charleston County, South Carolina, and has requested a restraining order against her husband.

John McDougall, the actor's lawyer, released a statement on Thursday (May 29) saying, "I can say that Bill Murray is deeply saddened by the break-up of his marriage to Jennifer. They remain loving parents, committed to the best interest of their children. And Mr. Murray asks the public respect his family's privacy at this difficult time."

The couple have four sons together Caleb, Jackson, Cooper and Lincoln.

Jessica Get Mistaken for Carrie!

Jessica Simpson has been making her feelings about Carrie Underwood be known with her anti-vegetarian stance emblazoned on a shirt, so it's safe to say she wasn't too happy when she was mistaken for her foe!

Following lunch with pals at Dos Caminos in NYC�s SoHo on June 11, Jess, 27, returned to her hotel, where a girl asked for her autograph.

�She said she was her number-one fan from back in the Idol days,� an eyewitness tells OK!. �Jessica smiled politely and didn�t correct her, and she started to laugh when the girl asked how she was doing since her devastating split from Chace [Crawford].�

Ouch.

Jess didn�t end up giving her John Hancock, and though she took it all in stride, a pal tells OK!, �She wasn�t pleased that the girl had no clue who she was!�

Crack is Wack for Tatum O'Neal

Tatum O'Neal was popped by the NYPD for allegedly scoring crack and coke last night.

The NYPD tells us that O'Neal was allegedly "observed" buying crack and coke on the Lower East Side near her apartment.

She was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and held at the Seventh Precinct downtown. We're told that she's waiting to see the judge for arraignment.

Her rep couldn't immediately be reached for comment.

Gary Barlow backs Take That-based musical

Take That's Gary Barlow has tacitly praised the musical 'Never Forget', which is based on his band and made its London West End debut last night (May 22).

The band had previously distanced themselves from the production, which they have no officially endorsed. Although record company EMI had licensed the band's songs for the production, the group had insisted that the show was nothing to do with them.

However, since hearing reports from friends about the show, Barlow has softened his stance. Although he said he would not go to see the show himself, he said that he had heard positive feedback about it.

"At first I thought it sounded horrible," he told BBc News. "But the reports I've seen have been really good so there must be something good in it. I'm just worried that they're better than us.

"I don't really know a lot about it, but the people I know that have been really had a good time."

A-Team and Kojak return on the web

US TV giant NBC Universal has said that it will stream full episodes of classic series on its websites.
The Hollywood Reporter says that shows like 'The A-Team', 'Kojak', 'Miami Vice' and the original 'Battlestar Galactica' will be available on NBC sites from this month.

Beyonce & Diddy Fight Over Jay-Z

Beyonce reportedly had a rival for the attentions of new husband Jay-Z in Cannes over the weekend – in the form of P-Diddy.
The Bootylicious one was apparently unimpressed with Diddy’s hard-partying influence on her hubby, after he gatecrashed their bash at the VIP Rooms in the French city.
"Beyonce's usually so mild-mannered but she was rolling her eyes as Diddy kept dragging her man off to party,” a source tells the U.K.’s Mirror.
Even the Queen Bee's jelly failed to work it's usual magic.
"She tried to win her hubby back by dancing up close to him but Diddy pulled him onstage and made him watch his raucous rendition of New York, New York," the insider adds.
